delays, rain and seattle mindcamp
7:30 am - san francisco ... getting ready to go the airport for my 9 am flight back to seattle... what do you know, the flight is delayed by 2.5 hours!! yuck! i have to go to the
mindcamp. guess i'll just drive straight to the mindcamp from the airport.. i'll spend my 2.5 hours trying to fix one of the live.com bugs with passport (i miss being a developer sometimes)
san francisco - gorgeous, warm, sunny weather
seattle - absolutely miserably gray :(
2 pm - get to mindcamp... @
pirillo's gada.be session - all about opml, lots of good discussion. still trying to make up my mind about the concept behind gada.be. i'm actually too mentally exhausted right now to digest it :)
wandering around, not feeling too good, thinking about leaving. "sanaz" - oh it's
Torres.. "you have a session at 4".. really! guess i'm not gonna leave then.
next stop - berkin's talk about smart people making bad decisions. interesting - don't agree with a lot of the things being discussed nonetheless nice topic. it's a lot about how we should have more data points and think more thoroughly to make the right decisions instead of wrong decisions (i'm probably over simplifying it) - but a lot of times there is no wrong and right and you have to be decisive and make a decision and just stick with it realizing it can turn out to be wrong, and just be prepared for it.
i'm up next with Brady, Andy, Brandon and Torres.... i get up there, totally unprepared (then again i rarely prepare more than 10 minutes for my demoes).. showing off live.com and bunch of gadgets (i love my product :) )... good audience, i'm feeling re-energized again..
my favorite question was something in lines of 'is the party over alluding to our start.com model'... i said yes, as of tuesday 11/1 :) i've just realized we're not an incubation project anymore... this is actually kinda sad - and i hope to keep the incubation mentality as long as i can.
pirillo,
scoble,
ponzi and i go for sushi... awesome food, awesome disucssions ranging from ear infections and chiropractors to adding firefox support on live.com (which is coming very very soon) to my thinkweek paper about a leaner more efficient microsoft.
overall, mindcamp was fun (i wish i wasn't so tired so i could stay longer), lots of smart people and brainstorming sessions.. loved it, there should more of these events.
